David Schlotterbeck

David Schlotterbeck is the retired chairman and chief executive officer of CareFusion, a leading medical technology company. From 2004 through 2009, he served as vice chairman of Cardinal Health and chief executive officer for their clinical and medical products business segment. He joined Cardinal Health through the acquisition of Alaris Medical Systems, where he was president and chief executive officer from 1999 through 2004. Mr. Schlotterbeck previously held executive leadership roles as president and chief operating officer of Pacific Scientific Company; president and chief executive officer of Vitalcom, Inc.; and, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Nellcor, Inc. He holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from the General Motors Institute (Kettering University) and an M.S. in electrical engineering from Purdue University.

Dirk G. Soenksen, M.S., M.B.A., President and Futurist

Dirk Soenksen

Dirk Soenksen has more than 20 years of experience in all aspects of corporate management, most recently as the president and CEO of Aperio, a role he assumed for more than 12 years after founding the company. Prior to founding Aperio, he was involved in three prior start-up ventures, including as the vice president/GM at Applied Spectral Imaging, where he was instrumental in raising both private and venture capital. Prior to that, Mr. Soenksen spent six years in product development at GEC-Marconi. He has a proven record of identifying markets for new technologies and holds a number of patents related to microscope-based diagnostics.

Anne Brumme

Anne Brumme has more than 20 years of experience in software development and technical services. Prior to joining Aperio, Ms. Brumme held various technical and management positions at XP Systems, a provider of financial transaction systems, including chief technical officer, vice president/engineering, and manager of technical services and installations.

Ole Eichhorn, Chief Technical Officer

Ole Eichhorn

Ole Eichhorn has more than 30 years of experience as a software engineer, architect, and manager. He joined Aperio in 2001 as one of the company's first employees, and has actively participated in the development of digital pathology technology and its applications for patient care. Ole has been involved in three previous companies, including PayPal, where he served as vice president of engineering; Intuit, where he was general manager of Intuit's web finance subsidiary; and Digital Insight, where he held the position of vice president of engineering. Prior to that, he was vice president of development and director of technology for XP Systems.

Steven Russell, Sr. VP and General Manager, Healthcare

Steven Russell

Steven Russell is an accomplished executive with more than 30 years of leadership experience and success. He has held a range of executive-level roles at industry-leading healthcare information technology companies. At QuadraMed, he served as senior vice president of corporate development, where he successfully led strategic planning, sales training, and support and product partnerships for a product portfolio that generated approximately $150 million in annual revenues. He also held executive positions at MedQuist Corporation, HealthScribe, Inc., Compucare Company and Cerner Corporation. He earned a bachelor's degree from Indiana University, Bloomington, IN and attended Harvard Business School's "Finance for Senior Executives" program.

Jared N. Schwartz, M.D., Ph.D., Chief Medical Officer

Jared Schwartz

Jared Schwartz brings 30 years of pathology expertise to his role as CMO, most recently serving as president of the College of American Pathologists, and director of pathology and laboratory medicine at Presbyterian Healthcare in Charlotte, North Carolina. Board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology with subspecialty boards in medical microbiology and cytopathology, he is a graduate of Duke University Medical School, where he completed his residency and fellowship training, and served as chief resident. He was appointed to the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Advisory Committee by HHS, and was a co-chair and author of the ASCO/CAP Guidelines on HER2, which was published in the January 2007 editions of the Journal of Clinical Oncology and Archives of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.

Martin Stuart has more than 18 years of experience in international sales and marketing management, and product development. Prior to joining Aperio, Dr. Stuart was vice president of sales and services for Entropia Inc., a desktop grid computing company focused on the life sciences market. He has also served as vice president, business development and vice president, sales and marketing for Tripos Inc. a multi-faceted discovery research organization serving the pharmaceutical and biotech market. Previous positions include an extensive scientific tenure with the 3M Company.

Kevin Whiteley

Kevin Whiteley has more than 25 years of experience in healthcare marketing, sales, management, and business development. Mr. Whiteley came to Aperio from XOFT Inc., a breast irradiation oncology start-up, where he was responsible for marketing operations and commercialization activities for a radiation system to hospitals and oncology treatment centers. He has also held key posts at R2Technology Inc., a medical imaging company focused on computer aided detection solutions, Alaris Medical Systems, and the McGaw Division of American Hospital Supply Corporation specializing in intravenous and drug delivery systems. Mr. Whiteley holds a B.S., business administration (marketing), from the University of Arizona (Tucson), as well as an M.B.A. in marketing and finance.

Patrick Yount, Chief Financial Officer

Patrick Yount

Patrick Yount has over 25 years of experience in financial roles for healthcare organizations. He most recently served as executive vice president of Univita Health. Before joining Univita, Patrick served as the CFO of Axia Health Management. In that role, Patrick ensured all operational and financial goals were met in the integration of the five acquired companies forming Axia and was instrumental in the sale of the company Healthways in 2006. Prior to joining Axia, Patrick had CFO roles with Biosensors International, a manufacturer of drug coated stents, where he led the initial public offering, and with Hudson Respiratory Inc., a leading global manufacturer of disposable respiratory products that served the critical and alternative care markets. Patrick earned a BS in finance from San Jose University and is a graduate of the General Electric Financial Management Program.
