Aperio to showcase latest digital pathology systems at the 60th anniversary of The Korean Society of Pathologists meeting in Seoul, Korea
SEOUL, KOREA – October 19, 2006 – Aperio, the leading provider of digital pathology systems and services to the healthcare and life science industry, has appointed SeongKohn Traders' (SKT) as its distributor to bring digital pathology to Korea. SKT is a leading import distributor of automated instruments and consumables for cytology, histology, and autopsy/forensic laboratories, headquartered in Seoul, Korea.

Aperio's latest digital pathology systems will be on display October 19-21, at The Korean Society of Pathologists (KSP) meeting being held at the Asan Medical Center in Seoul, Korea. In addition to distributing glass slides to conference attendees, digital slides will also be provided via DVD and via web hosting. A live demonstration of Aperio's ScanScope® CS scanner and Spectrum™ digital pathology information management system will also take place at booth 01 from 11:30 to 12:30 on October 19, and 08:30 to 3:30 during the meeting. Over 400 pathologists are scheduled to attend the three-day meeting.
ScanScope CS is Aperio's sleek, high-performance scanner, featuring a convenient five-slide capacity. On average, it achieves a 20x scanning throughput of less than three minutes per slide. ScanScope Systems include Spectrum, Aperio's platform for managing, analyzing, and interpreting digital pathology information.
