IMAGE ANALYSIS PLATFORM

Aperio’s ScanScope® slide scanners provide superior image quality and calibration, which is essential for high-quality image analysis.

Our image analysis capabilities are well integrated into Aperio’s web-based digital pathology information management system, SpectrumTM Plus, and add-on products such as TMA Lab. It allows researchers to use image analysis to automate and standardize their studies. They can automatically run image analysis on entire studies using batch processing and then export the data to a variety of standard formats for further statistical analysis. Advanced data base searches allow for easy data mining. It allows clinicians to use image analysis tools as integral part of their workflow. They can run image analysis conveniently with a simple click of a button while reviewing the slides on a computer monitor.

Aperio provides a scalable server-side processing architecture that guarantees fast response times for a large number of users and even allows whole-slide image analysis to keep up with the slide scanning.

IMAGE ANALYSIS SOLUTION

  Aperio provides specially tuned image analysis solutions for specific applications. These image analysis solutions are typically used as an integral part of a complete workflow solution.

IHC Image Analysis (part of our Digital IHC Solution) Aperio offers a suite of image analysis algorithms that help pathologists with the quantification of Immunohistochemistry (IHC) slides. Aperio provides FDA cleared In-Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) algorithms for HER2, ER and PR stained breast specimens. Algorithms can be tuned for different tissue types (e.g. breast, colon, prostate), stains (e.g. HER2, ER, PR, Ki-67, P53, EGFR), reagents (e.g. Dako, Ventana) or to correlate algorithm results with other test methods (e.g. FISH, CISH).


OPEN SYSTEM

Aperio believes in open system architectures and standards, and provides Application Programming Interfaces (API) to allow customers and 3rd parties to expand the functionality of the system and to provide their products on our Digital Pathology platform.

You can take full advantage of the infrastructure we provide and implement your own algorithms using our Software Development Kit (SDK).

We also provide an interface to a commonly used 3rd party image analysis tool ImagePro (MediaCybernetics) that allows you to run ImagePro macros on whole slides completely integrated into our platform.
