Spectrum Functionality: Annotations
Fully Integrated Annotation Authoring

Annotation authoring capabilities are fully integrated into Spectrum and ImageScope, enabling the addition of graphical and textual annotations that can be stored and shared with the digital slide. Images can be authored at any resolution, and annotations scale with the digital slide view.

Annotations may be kept and grouped into different layers, providing a highly flexible environment for adding graphical and textual highlights. Multiple authors annotate separately in color-coded layers, and some, none, or all of the layers may be viewed simultaneously. Clickable annotations allow users to click a graphical annotation to automatically access the linked text reference, and vice-versa. The annotation ruler tool enables users to take precise measurements and store them in an annotation layer for future reference.

Image analysis markups are also stored as annotation layers, enabling the user to easily toggle between marked up and non-marked up views of the digital slide.

All annotations are automatically saved in a separate XML file, leaving the digital slide unaltered.
